The start of the 14th stage before the last one to Vladivostok was really special. It was our first time in this hidden city directly on the river banks of Amur and just opposite of Heihe in China. The city welcomed us in a fantastic atmosphere and the vice mayor made the start procedure.
Police support was exceptional, guided by one car in front and one after the Peloton, which was accompanied by a number of local cyclists, every crossing was blocked by a policeman on either side and we got green lights during all the city until we reached the bridge over Zeya river, which runs into Amur just outside of the city.
All 6 riders were highly motivated knowing that their target to reach Vladivostok and the finish line on Russkiy island is only 3 days away.
Tomorrow we will reach the beautiful city Chabarovsk also lying on Amur river and we all look forward to meet our great friends there supporting us year over year.
The weather is great, 28°C during the day and 18°C during the night, dry and sunny.
We will be driving through the Jewish autonomous region passing the capital Birobitshan before we arrive in Khabarovsk.
