About the Race
The longest and toughest bicycle stage race in the world leads through Russia, the largest country in the world! 15 stages, 8 time zones, 5 climate zones, 9105 km and 77,000 meters altitude in 25 days make this race unique! The route leads along the Trans-Siberian Railway from Moscow via Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Tomsk (this year for the first time), Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Chita, Svobodniy as the finish of the king´s stage. Stage 14th started for the first time in Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk to Vladivostok.
So far, only 9 athletes from a total of 26 solo starters were able to complete all stages of this extreme bike race. 2015, the Belgian Kristoff Allegaert as winner and the Englishman Steve Harvey, 2017 Alexey Shchebelin as the winner, Pierre Bischoff in second and Marcelo Florentino Soares in third! 7 cyclists were not able to ride to the end.
The Austrian Eduard Fuchs finished 2 times in the "Minor Classification" in 2015 and 2016 because of not completing all stages.
The result in 2018 sets a record, because 4 athletes completed the complete 15 stages and 9105 km in the "Major Classification".
Pierre Bischoff from Germany was the 2018 winner. Pierre also set a new record on stage 13, the king‘s stage, with 49 hours and 45 minutes for 1368 km!
Second became Michael Knudsen, Denmark, 3rd Marcelo Florentino Soares from Brazil and 4 th Amit Samarth from India. Patricio Doucet from Argentina finished in minor category, as he did not complete stage 13.

Every cyclist receives a VW Caravelle T6 with two drivers as race car. A total of 22 VW was on the road for 6 cyclists to accompany the racing teams to Vladivostok, safe and sound. 6 doctors and physiotherapists, the sports directors and jury, 3 bike mechanics with their VW Transporter, a team of 7 to care of catering, equipped with 3 VW's, including a Crafter completely furbished as a kitchen, a VW Caddy refrigerator and a VW Crafter truck. A professional and experienced management team and several Red Bull camera teams were available 24/7 to assist the athletes. Many of the support team have been attending the RBTSE for years and provide with their experience for the unique care.
In the 16 cities from Moscow to Vladivostok, the racing teams and all support teams are staying 8 times in Hilton hotels. During the several overnight stages, the catering team ensures the well-being of all participants. Every 240 km, equivalent to an average of 30km/h or every 8 hours, a food stop is set up with the Kärcher Lounge to offer complete hot and cold food to the athletes and all supporters.
The "Red Bull Trans-Siberian Extreme" is the best organized ultra-cycling stage race in the world.

The organizer of the "Red Bull Trans-Siberian Extreme", the Austrian consulting company Bruck Consult, received the bronze export price in bronze for the 2018 edition of this unique sports and logistics organization from the Austrian Chamber of Commerce in the Information & Consulting Division.
